• What you enjoyed most when working on this task

I enjoyed the progress of discovering the interesting facts of the buildings that was familiar to me when i was growing up. Reading up these information has allowed me to increase my level of the understanding of my neighborhood. I had never realised that the buildings in my neighbourhood was such a fasinating place and they were quite new compared to the other places in Singapore.

• What were some challenges you faced?
• I could not find out the exact facts of the buildings in the past or the details of the construction of the buildings. There is not much comparison to be done , regarding the past and present .I could not take a proper pictures of the buildings and it was raining so i was worried that the camera would spoil if it is wet.

I think I could do better in the information of the past and present of the buildings.

                                                First new primary school set up as a part of the               

FutureSchools@Singapore program. 

The aim of the programme is to have a small group of schools to lead the way in providing possible models for the seamless and pervasive integration of information and communication technologies (ICT) that include interactive and digital media (IDM) into the curriculum for engaged learning in schools.

                                                 

  The name ' Beacon' was made public on 21 May 2007 as part of the official announcement. Beacon was chosen to signify the school's role as a pathfinder of new approaches to engage learners. Beacon begins her journey with a pioneer cohort of 240 pupils on 2 January 2008.

It consists of a beacon with five brilliant rays in golden yellow serving as the guiding light.  The rays signify our desired outcomes to be a contributor, connector, constructor, conductor and confident learner.


The school crest in the shape of a shield symbolizes strength and our commitment in nurturing the whole child.
